Global Tibetan Children’s Village Alumni Conference

Reimaging The Path To The Future Of TCV

In July 2025, TCV alumni from across the world gathered in New York City for a historic moment — the first-ever Global TCV Alumni Conference. More than a reunion, it was a heartfelt coming together of generations who share one legacy and one purpose: to honor TCV’s journey and shape its future.

This page highlights key moments and reflections from the conference, along with a link to the official Conference Magazine, which captures detailed reports, insights, and photos from this milestone gathering.

About the Conference

On July 11–12, 2025, around 55 TCV alumni gathered at Tibet House in New York City, joined by TCV President Gen Sonam Sichoe la, for a historic, first-of-its-kind event — the Global TCV Alumni Conference.

This milestone gathering was more than a reunion. It was a space to reflect on TCV’s enduring legacy, reimagine its future, and set bold, actionable goals for generations to come. Discussions ranged from financial sustainability and staff welfare to modernizing curriculum rooted in Tibetan ethics, and even envisioning a TCV branch in the West.

Why This Conference Mattered

First Global Gathering: Alumni from across the world came together with a shared sense of purpose and commitment.

Collective Action: Structured task forces were formed to address key challenges and opportunities facing TCV.

Institutional Partnership: TCV leadership, represented by President Gen Sonam Sichoe la, directly engaged with alumni — underscoring the importance of alumni voices in shaping TCV’s future.

The Goal

To unite alumni from around the globe, pool collective wisdom, and translate shared ideas into concrete action plans that will support and strengthen TCV for decades to come.

Why It Matters

For over six decades, TCV has been the heart of Tibetan education, nurturing generations with knowledge, values, and culture. This conference recognized that to sustain this legacy, alumni must now step forward as co-builders of TCV’s future.
