Gen Tsewang Yeshi la Visit to New york 09/17/2016

September 17, 2016 (Saturday)
TCVAA INC - NY&NJ honored gen Tsewang Yeshi la for his dedicated service to the Tibetan Community, particularly the TCV organization. After serving two terms as the president of TCV, gen la retired in 2016 and was succeeded by gen Thupten Dorjee la.
We were fortunate enough to be able to host a welcome dinner for Gen la during his personal visit to the United States, and were joined by former TCV staff and alumni.
During the dinner, a Buddha Shakyamuni statue was presented to Gen la as a token of gratitude for his many years of service to the Tibetan Children’s Village organization, playing a key role in shouldering many major responsibilities with Ama Jetsun Pema la. During the dinner, gen la shared his thoughts about the TCV alumni network, TCV Alumni Desk, TCV sponsorship & fundraising, membership drive form from TCV’s head office, and concluded by thanking our association and its supporters for recognizing gen la’s services. Gen la’s speech was followed by dinner, and the evening continued with TCV alumni playing songs and musical instruments. It was truly a celebration of gratitude, solidarity, and nostalgia.
